Howdy Everypony! ^^ Here's my animation's promotional poster and a set of links to all the sites where I've uploaded it. Enjoy!

And for those of you who want to dive a little deeper into my process, I've linked the rough animation and the puppet breakdown below:

EDIT: (09-25-11) I've had a lot of questions about how long this took me - so here's the breakdown. This animation took me 130 hours to complete (40 hours to build the puppet, 80 hours to animate Pinkie, and another 10 for post-production editing).

PFFFFTAHAHAHAHA!!! I love your animation, Zach!! It's hilarious! You know? My favorite part is the one with Gummy in a gift box... The sounds seem to be cute, so do Pinkie herself ^_^

Did you know that Lyra the unicorn is friends with Bon-Bon the earth pony? Each character has a fan-given name (for example, a big red earth pony is Big Mackintosh, a white pegasus pony with blue hair is Lightning Bolt and a fuchsia earth pony with purple hair is Berry Punch)!

I saw a rough-sketched version of this animation.
Delivering a random gift-box will give you a nasty surprise!!
What do you think?

When working with sound in flash, does it sound different when exported? I'm using sound to synchronize with the animation, but when I export it, the sound quality seems to be reduced. I mean, I see that your final product was a mp4 file (I think) so you may have added the final sound afterwards. Is that what you did?

Also, for the pony puppets, are the body outline and body colors two separate symbols, or are they together as one symbol?

I hope this makes sense and I thank you for taking the time to read my questions.

You need to go to File ► Publish Settings... - and then change your Audio Stream & your Audio Event to 24 kbps. That should fix the problem. :)

And for the puppets, the body outline and color are both within one symbol (except for the knee joint in the back leg). Check these .GIFs out - [link] - they should help shed light on how the ponies are put together.

Thank you very much for that link. It'll be very helpful when putting together the puppets.

As for the audio, it still sounded bad. I imported an mp3 so maybe that's why? After messing around with the settings, I found that setting the compression to "RAW" on both Audio Stream and Audio event made it sound better. Would this be a good solution?

Thank you once again for your time.

I'm not sure - I believe I remember running into problems with my audio when I was finishing off "Present Prank". I remember having to make sure that it was compressed to 16-bit, 22KHz. If it was larger than that then the sound quality would drop.

Eh, don't worry about it. I'll try to figure it out. Thanks for all of your help though. I really do appreciate it.

I'm beginning to see that animation is no easy task, and once I begin making the puppets, I'll really feel it.

Thanks for everything!
